Becca Hayko

Hi Friends! I'm Becca Hayko. I was born and raised in Louisville, Ky. I spent my childhood always outside; exploring forests, swimming in creeks, or climbing trees. While my life doesn't look too different now, that love of nature is part of what drew me to this lovely life here in the RRG and to the sport of rock climbing. 

I began rock climbing when I was in college and quickly fell in love with its intricate beauty. Rock climbing challenges you both physically and mentally, helping you work through fears and push yourself to accomplish things you never thought possible. Climbing has taken me to so many beautiful place; from sand-bagged slopers in the South to road-side technical climbs in Colorado all the way to majestic high-ball boulders in Bishop. I am always dreaming and scheming my next climbing adventure. 

I moved to the RRG in 2020 with my husband and our crazy cattle dog to be closer to the amazing rock climbing found here and to be part of this beautiful and welcoming community. When I’m not climbing you can probably find me wandering through the woods foraging for my small business @fibersoftheforest where I create plant-dyed clothing and textiles. One of my favorite pastimes in the RRG is searching for new swimming holes and waterfalls, so if you know of any, send them my way!
