Joy Hopkins

Hello! I’m Joy Hopkins, Via Ferrata Instructor here at Southeast. My husband and I have a farm in Breathitt County where we raise sheep, poultry, horses, and other fun livestock. We moved from East Tennessee in 2022 and are enamored with the Red River Gorge and all it has to offer, including climbing, hiking, backpacking, and arch-hunting! I spent about 30 years in outdoor education in and near the Great Smoky Mountains guiding horseback riding, hiking, paddling, birding, ropes courses, biking and other adventures as well as naturalist activities. I’m so blessed to be a part of the Southeast team, for my first season, where I get to share the beauty and wonders of creation and encourage people in experiencing its challenges.
