KV Kalra

Hi! My name is KV Kalra, haling from the Lehigh Valley in southeastern PA. I grew up closer to mountain biking trails than to climbing, quite happy to keep both feet, or at least both wheels, on solid ground. Eventually, though, I was coaxed up a scrappy bit of rock or two by the taunts of my sister and took to climbing more quickly and permanently than I was prepared for, finding a more refined version of the brutish body English of mountain biking in the delicacy and elegance of rock climbing.

My first experience outdoor climbing was in the Red River Gorge on a university trip, and I’ve been pulled back every year since. I eventually began leading the climbing and mountain biking trips for my university, picking up some shifts at the climbing wall and route setting as well while on my way to a degree in materials sciences and engineering. When I can find a bit of spare time, I like little better than finding somewhere quiet to read a book, preferably something by Douglas Adams or Neal Stephenson. There’s also a good chance I’ll be working my way through an unadvisedly intricate/small jewelry project or debating whether or not to restart a drawing for the 3rd time that day.
